about
Hello friends
My business partner and confidant, Lord Fuxley, has entrusted to me the task of introducing the first transmission from his solo project Benbo.
I commend it to you.
On listening you may find that you are caught in space, between meaningful and meaningless. Songs crash in, start in style, then putter to some premature resting place related only tenuously to their initial signs.
It is, perhaps, indicative of the uncertainty we must all face in the early twenty-first century as our communities and relations fall to the grail of economic success. More likely it is simply the child Benbo playing at pop music; indulging his delight at KLF or Beatles; finding a feeling, chasing it, losing it, falling over.
Yes, there is something here, somewhere, and then gone again. “Black hole/Black hole/What do you do to me?” – he knows no more than we do. “Never had/A thing by Tad/Nor did you” – a man failing to express himself through a non-existent record collection. His advice? “Start digging with this spoon/We’re only fifty miles away from you.” No, here is not a credo for life, rather an admission of inability and the appalling unsuitability of the tools at hand. BUT also, optimistically, an acceptance of acceptance, a way through mud and vagueness simply by failing to stop moving. DO ANYTHING, it says, JUST NOT NOTHING.
As an Extended Play Compact Disc you may now treat the enclosed as both cultural artefact and throwaway consumer product. Please, sit it on your shelf and talk to it. It has no answers.
I remain yours, with honest and true intention

The PinPrick Manifesto:
Hello, beautiful music.
We love music that is alive, that makes us laugh, that astonishes us, moves us, takes us away.
We don’t know anyone who only loves rock or only loves hip hop or only loves trance. People we have met like this have turned out to be knobheads.
We believe in mistakes, strange timing, the odd bum note, surface noise and the ghost in the machine.
